WICKED! and a Hetalian observation

Mon Jun 29, 2009, 11:49 PM
After dying to see the musical ever since I read the book, I'M FINALLY GOING TO SEE IT! Courtesy of my friends, who surprised the hell out of me by getting me a ticket as a (very) early birthday present. I'M SO EXCITED. :D :D :D

I finally get to see what everyone's been going on about~ :) Apparently it's very different to the book - well, it'd have to be, because a faithful representation would probably go on for about seventeen hours. But I loved the novel, and loved Elphaba. It's rare for me to have a female favourite character, but Elphie is a very different sort of heroine. She reminds me a little of myself, in the quirks of her personality. I finished re-reading Son of a Witch for the fourth time, and I found myself frustrated in looking for evidence of her love for Liir. I knew it had to be there, but she just never showed it. She could be wildly passionate in her defence of Animals and the politics of Oz, but indifferent to her own son.

Anyway, I'm currently in a bit of a lull between hectic school terms, hence the slight increase in updates. Almost all Hetalia-related. :D

I love the way Hetalia is taking the online art community by storm. Nearly all the awesome artists I've been watching (some for years) have put out something Hetalia-related (or gone totally Hetalia-mad) over the last eight months or so. To name a few: :iconbrilcrist:, :iconmandachan:, :iconalexiussana:, :iconchancake: and :iconkanae:

Check them out. They're all amazing.

Severely stressed. And, since I'm replying to your comment three weeks later, obviously I'm kind of out of it. =_= Chocolate, that's what I need.
